Monika dreams of a great career as a singer. She came from Lithuania to Dublin with her mother Jolanta and her emented grandmother to escape poverty. Now they move from family celebrations to funerals. The 13-year-old sings and Jolanta accompanies her on the piano. They are still short of money. When a music producer takes notice of Monika, a successful future seems within reach. But Jolanta has other worries. With him, she begins to discover the beautiful sides of life.
